PADDYWAK STRAPPIN' IT ON

Wild card London-based trio Paddywak caused quite a stir at the lauded Brixton Windmill from the tail end of last year, right up to pre-COVID times. Having won the affections of booker Tim Perry, the threesome bagged themselves a support slot for black midi and have played alongside numerous other TMR faves including Great Dad. Arriving Wednesday via Double Dare, Paddywak's first official release 'Strappin' It On' is a fiery mission statement. Anchored by Orazio's overblown, distorted bass line, vocalists and synth players Caitlin and Abi's unhinged vocals escalate from sickly sweet pop tones to guttural screams in no time at all. Getting their point across in just over 2 minutes, 'Strappin' It On' is the perfect introduction to Paddywak's thrillingly versatile sound. -Holly Mullineaux
